Traditional Can Be Chic, Too
A historical brown stone building sets the tone for the interior of this Ivy League University. The house was rich in tradition, and therefore it was important to the college women that we preserved these traditional themes when creating the new updated space.
The Thetas wanted to keep the Red Room, which earned its name with the old red painted walls, without keeping the red walls themselves. As a solution, we decided to draw upon classic Burberry plaid, which we integrated to infuse red into the room in a more subtle way. Additionally, since Kappa Alpha Theta colors are black and gold, we used these two colors as the inspiration for the main living space as a nod to their historical symbolism.
