Light and bright.

When this Ridgefield client requested that more brightness and light be infused into their kitchen, the first thing we thought about was bringing in more overhead lighting and knocking down a few walls to add natural light and create a larger space.  We removed a wall between the dining area and kitchen, widened the opening to accommodate a new large center island and built-in pantry, and added a few fun island pendant lights.

Then, we used the open space above the cabinets to add design details with decorative cabinet doors and additional storage, even adding a hidden microwave behind the garage style cabinet door.  Next, we added a fresh coat of white paint on the existing cabinets and a coat of classic navy blue on the island for a pop of color, and created a magnetic message center on the side of the refrigerator to give the space some personality.
